Privacy policy

This page explains how Cron Renown, a small made-to-measure lingerie atelier at 4-24-11 Setochodonora, Naruto, Tokushima 771-0361, Japan, handles the personal information that reaches us through this website, by email, by telephone and in person. We are the business responsible for that information under the Japanese Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). The name of the individual who runs the atelier is given on our legal notice page and is also disclosed without delay to anyone who asks.

In short: the website itself does not track you, it carries no advertising or analytics scripts, and what you send us is used to answer you and to make the piece you ordered. Because a fitted garment needs body measurements, we hold more personal detail than a typical shop does, so most of this page is about those measurements and how carefully we treat them.

What reaches us

When you write to us through the enquiry form or by email, we receive the details you type in: usually your name, an email address, optionally a telephone number, and your message. If you phone, we may note down the number and what was discussed so that we can follow up.

If you go ahead with an order, the information grows with the order. We ask for a delivery name, address and telephone number; your seven body measurements (band at rest and at full exhale, bust, underbust, and the further points on our measurement guide); your choice of fabric, colour and silhouette; and anything you tell us about fit preferences, such as wire-free or extra room in the band. For alteration jobs we also keep the piece's earlier measurements.

We do not need medical information to make lingerie. If you choose to mention a pregnancy, a birth, nursing or a sensitive skin condition because it affects fit, we use that only to fit your piece, and you are welcome to leave it out and describe the fit need instead.

How we use it

We use your details for these purposes and no others: replying to your enquiry; preparing a written quote; posting your measurement guide and swatch card; cutting, sewing and fitting your piece; arranging payment, delivery, adjustments and alterations; keeping the invoices and records the law requires; and answering questions or complaints about an order afterwards.

We do not add you to a newsletter or marketing list unless you ask us to, and we do not build profiles of customers. We do not use your measurements for anything except making and adjusting your own pieces, and we do not reuse one client's pattern for another.

Cookies and browser storage

This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies and contains no analytics, advertising pixels or social-media widgets. Fonts and scripts are served from this site's own files, so visiting a page does not send your address to a font or script provider.

Your browser does keep two small preferences in its local storage so that the site behaves the way you left it. One records that you dismissed the privacy notice, so that the notice does not return. The other records whether you paused the page animation with the music-note button. Neither holds a name, an identifier or anything that could single you out, and neither is sent to us. You can remove both at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We pass on only what is needed for a specific job: your delivery name, address and telephone number go to the carrier that delivers your parcel; payment details go to the bank or to the payment provider behind the secure payment link we send you, and a card number is entered on the provider's page, never on this website and never with us; and invoices and payment records go to our accountant or to the tax authorities when the law requires it.

Our email service stores correspondence, and its servers may be located outside Japan. If that concerns you, tell us and we will keep your order to post and telephone wherever that is practical. We do not send your measurements to any service other than the one you wrote to us through.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails that do not lead to an order are deleted up to three years after the last contact. For customers, we keep your measurement sheet for two years after your last order so that alterations, refitting and re-orders do not start from zero; after that it is destroyed unless you ask us to keep it. Paper sheets are shredded and digital copies are deleted.

Invoices and payment records are kept for as long as Japanese accounting and tax rules require. They contain your name, address and the amount paid, but not your body measurements.

What you can ask of us

Under the APPI you may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to stop using it, or to delete it. If you want us to delete your measurement sheet earlier than two years, say so and we will do it, apart from the invoice records we are obliged to keep.

To make a request, write to info@cronrenown.com or to the address at the foot of this page. To protect you, we confirm that the request comes from the email address or telephone number we already have on file, and we may ask one or two simple questions before we release or change anything. We answer without undue delay.

Security

The website consists of static pages and stores no customer records itself. Messages sit in a password-protected mailbox, and paper measurement sheets stay in the atelier. Only the people working on your order can open them.

We keep devices and software up to date and use separate passwords for the mailbox and payment accounts. No system is perfectly safe, so if we ever find that your information has been exposed in a way that could harm you, we will tell you and the Personal Information Protection Commission as the law requires.

Children

This site and our services are meant for adults. If someone under 16 wants to order, a parent or guardian should write to us on their behalf, and we will take measurements through that adult.

Changes to this policy

When our practices change, for example if we add a new payment provider, we update this page and change the date at the top. The date shown is the last time the text was revised.
