Terms of use

These terms apply to your use of the website run by Cron Renown, a made-to-measure lingerie atelier at 4-24-11 Setochodonora, Naruto, Tokushima 771-0361, Japan, and to orders you place with the atelier through it. By using the site you agree to them. We have kept them in plain language, because a garment made to your measurements deserves a clear agreement.

What this website is

This site presents our work, our prices and our process, and gives you a way to write to us. It is not an online shop with a basket or checkout. Nothing on the site is a binding offer: an order exists only once we have confirmed it in writing and received your deposit, as described below. No payment is taken on the website.

Content and ownership

The text, layout and brand name on this site belong to Cron Renown, and you may not copy them for commercial use without our written permission. Some photographs on the site are licensed from third-party image libraries and stay subject to the terms of those libraries; they are used to illustrate the craft and are not photographs of customers.

Please do not scrape the site, overload it or try to interfere with how it works. Ordinary reading, linking to our pages and sharing an article are welcome.

Prices and quotes

The prices on the Products page are starting prices in Japanese yen for a standard version of each piece. The price you pay is the one in our written quote, which follows your measurements, fabric and silhouette and states the total amount, including consumption tax and any carriage. We may change starting prices on the site at any time, but a quote we have issued stays valid for the period written on it.

How an order works

An order runs in this order. You send an enquiry; we reply by email and talk through what you need; we send a written quote together with a printed measurement guide, a soft tape and a swatch card by post. When your measurements are back and we have checked them with you, you confirm the order and pay a 50% deposit by bank transfer or by card through a secure payment link. We then cut and sew the piece. The remaining 50% is due before we ship.

The contract between you and Cron Renown begins when we confirm your order in writing and the deposit arrives. We do not take the full amount up front.

Made-to-measure goods

Every piece is cut to the measurements you give us, so its fit depends on those numbers. We review each set and will tell you if a figure looks unusual, but the final responsibility for taking the measurements follows the guide we send. Once cutting has begun, we may not be able to change size, fabric or colour, and if a change is still possible we will tell you the cost first.

Production time and delivery

A piece usually takes three to four weeks from the day we confirm the order and receive the deposit. This is an estimate, not a guarantee, and we will write to you if something will take longer. Delivery method, timing and carriage charge are agreed when you place the order and appear in the quote.

Adjustments, returns and cancellation

Your first order includes one free adjustment. Send the piece back to the atelier in Naruto, tell us what is wrong, and we will recut or alter the relevant panels. Return carriage for the adjustment is at your cost; the work itself is included in the original price. Later alterations are quoted separately, starting from the price on the Products page.

If a piece arrives damaged or is not what we agreed in the quote, write to us promptly with a photograph and we will remake it or refund the amount paid, depending on what is practical. Because each piece is made to your measurements and worn next to the skin, we cannot accept returns or cancellations for a change of mind once cutting has begun. Before cutting begins you may cancel by email, and we will refund your deposit apart from any transfer charges we cannot recover. These terms do not limit any right you have under Japanese consumer law.

Product information

Colours can look different on different screens, which is why we send a swatch card before cutting. Articles in our journal are general information about fit, fabric and care. They are not medical advice, and they do not replace advice from your doctor or midwife, particularly on the postpartum and nursing pages.

Our responsibility

We take care over the information on this site and over every piece we make, but we cannot promise that the site is always available or free of mistakes. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that arises only from relying on general information on the site. Nothing in these terms removes our responsibility for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, or any right that you have as a consumer.

How we handle your personal information, including measurements, is set out on the privacy page. Please read it before you send us a measurement sheet.

When the terms change

If something important changes, we revise these terms and update the date at the top. An order you have already confirmed stays under the terms that applied when you confirmed it.

Governing law

Japanese law governs these terms and your orders. If a dispute cannot be settled by talking, the Tokushima District Court is the court of first instance by agreement, without limiting any mandatory right you may have as a consumer to bring a claim in another court.
